What it feels like on the first day of college

It's D' Day!!

So, what does the first day of college feel like?

Does it feel the same as waking up for school, does it feel boring or exciting or nervous? Well, here is what the first day of college felt like for me!

College is big commitment stating the obvious that "you're grown up now! Welcome to reality"

Waking up with a rush of adrenaline in your body. A light and cheerful mood decides that your day would be awesome. The first moment when you realize you are now stepping out in the real world, out of your comfort zone and transitioning into an adult life with many things to focus on makes you feel proud and confident at yourself for achieving this milestone in your life.

Starting college is not just about beginning a new life or turning into adult, it means a lot more....

The sense of responsibility one has for themselves increases. The efforts and work you have done to reach here has a lot of sleepless nights, stressed out weeks, fun days and memories along the journey.

This milestone is an addition to your journey adding value to your life making you more confident about yourself. The stepping out of your house comes to life in this stage. The interaction with new people makes you feel alive and getting know them makes you fascinated towards different interests.

So, what does the first of college feel like?

The first day is meant to be your introduction in the college to your professors, classmates and the college itself. You are made to understand and explore the environment so you can fit in seamlessly for the next 3 years while you study your course. The support from teachers and fun networking with your fellow batchmates increases your social battery and recharges you every time you see and interact with them. The stress of assignments adds on with a hinge of funny jokes and laughs with the friends. Getting asked about your interests and skills make you want to open up more allowing you to explore yourself and your interests. Enrolling in clubs and sports is a decision you make for yourself allowing you to self-improve.

After quite a rough journey in life, I had the privilege to start college and my further education. I am highly grateful to all my supporters: my family, friends and close ones and my haters for helping me push through and reach this milestone in my journey of life.

It is my immense pleasure to start college at Curtin University Australia, Dubai Campus! I am glad i met so many people within the span of 12 days and it has opened my eyes towards gaining a new experience and set new expectations from life altogether.
